"People are the sum of their efforts minus
their unconquerable inconveniences"
(Lopez-Espina, 2013)
My decision to photograph with medium format cameras occurred late in my career. I only wish I had done it much earlier. Medium format, either film or digital, contains much more information, permitting bigger, sharper prints. Because of the greater size and weight of this equipment, it’s not always possible to use it in certain situations. For example, they are unsuitable for photographing wildlife. I’ve normally ventured with both medium and 35mm formats on photo assignments. Traveling with several hard hefty cases, two tripods, and a bunch of other gear, never qualified as traveling light, however, I'm not the type to complain when rewards await.
