MERGING HUES

"Inspiration gives rise to ingenuity, even

if motivation rations the limit of its success"

(Lopez-Espina, 2010)

Although it may not apply to every artist, a good number of us are willing to sacrifice whatever need be to attain the goal. One day the idea arose to take close-up photographs as different color paints were poured onto a surface. Although tempera was the least expensive paint available for this experiment, I still spent over $300.00 on a bunch of jars. The results were totally unpredictable. Once these water-based paints landed on a cardboard surface, I had to quickly find an interesting composition before they began drying. Yes, it was wasteful, but the outcome speaks for itself.
