AMERICAN LANDSCAPES

"Don't delay on doing it, delay on doing it right"

(Lopez-Espina, 2015)

Anyone designing websites knows sacrifices are frequently necessary for the betterment of the final product. I photographed the landscapes in this gallery with my medium format cameras. These cameras produce images with an 8 x 10 aspect ratio, which is more square than the 35mm format. Although it would have been easier to keep all landscapes together, I opted to separate each size. Aesthetics has always guided my decisions, and experience also helps. I’m not a fan of website slideshows using images of different proportions, the transitions from image to image become very distracting to the viewer. Obviously, when doing slideshows of other types of artworks, such as paintings, this latitude is normally not possible.

If you like this medium format aspect ratio, please visit the Limited Edition portfolios to see my favorite images.
